Jim Huff Memorial Community Garden
Each week, volunteers from the church and community gather in the Jim Huff Community Garden to enjoy God's beautiful world and share its bounty by planting and harvesting fresh organic produce to donate to the local food pantry. The garden crew works on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:00-9:00 am, and more hands are always needed! Whether you can come once or twice a week, once or twice a month, or once or twice a year, you can make a difference in the lives of the hungry in our community while learning the art of gardening and enjoying the fellowship of fellow gardeners.
How you can help!
- Work in the Garden when you are available: The garden crew is always looking for others to come help. You can help on a weekly basis, monthly basis, or just when you are available. You can also work for any length of time. Contact Kip Johnson if you would like to volunteer, or just come out on a Tuesday or Thursday morning to try it out and meet the other volunteers.
- Help with special Garden Workdays: Once or twice a year volunteers come together to help with various projects the keep the garden functioning properly. Projects vary from replacing landscape timbers, minor repairs, cleaning out the beds, etc. Workdays will be announced through church communications.
